Empowerment. Training events
Period of implementation: January 2021 - July 2022
The activity aims to put into practice the methods and guidelines developed in the previous activity, which will help in matching them to the needs of the beneficiaries, as well as enhancing the capacity of parents and activists to support children with special needs in the process of inclusion.
Karin Dom will organize seminars to present those guidelines and methods - the philosophy and importance of teamwork and interaction across sectors, the importance of preparation for transition of children with special needs, and the application of a family-oriented approach.
Using the materials and guidelines developed, training will be provided for parents in three modules:
1) knowledge and support of child development;
2) interaction with institutions and professionals;
3) advocacy and the pathway to success in the process of inclusion.
The advocacy module will be developed and implemented as an online training as well. Teacher training modules include topics related to communication, structuring the environment and behavioral intervention, and a teamwork.
